Whenever an NFL general manager's name gets shouted in unison by a contingent of their team's fanbase in the heart of downtown, they’re doing something right.

In Detroit on Thursday night, the reaction to the hometown Lions trading up five spots to take Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold at No. 24 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft was nothing short of euphoric. Stoddard Starbucks workers frustrated over reduced hours, staffing shortages

Workers at the Grand River Avenue and Stoddard Starbucks in East Lansing said their hours have been reduced in recent months in efforts by the corporation to increase the store’s turnover rate and, ultimately, impact its status as a union store.

East Lansing Police Oversight commissioners talk use-of-force policies, procedures and reporting practices

The East Lansing Independent Police Oversight Commission convened Wednesday, March 2 to discuss the April 25 shooting, in which two East Lansing Police Department officers shot at DeAnthony VanAtten, a 21-year-old Black male in a Meijer parking lot.

The two officers did not face charges as Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said the officers’ use of force was justified.
